As night falls and lights begin to twinkle, the sounds of oars and shimmering lanterns blend together, creating a bustling scene. This not only reflects the grandeur of the ancient Grand Canal, which once carried countless merchants and boats, but also depicts the modern-day canal, now a vibrant place to appreciate the scenery，to visit and to live around. Spanning 2,500 years of history, the Grand Canal is a crucial symbol of Chinese civilization. The section of the Grand Canal in Shandong province stretches 643 kilometers, passing through the cities of Dezhou, Liaocheng, Taian, Jining, and Zaozhuang. Through the preservation and continuation of Grand Canal culture, Shandong breathes new life into this ancient waterway.

济宁

Jining

济宁持续打造“运河记忆”项目。古运河沿岸文化资源丰富，涵盖东大寺、太白楼等古迹、古街，总面积约11平方公里、水域面积约3.2公顷。该项目通过开发有历史记忆、时尚元素的文旅项目，使其成为展现济宁“运河之都”的文化会客厅。

Jining is continuously developing the "Canal Memory" project. The area along the ancient canal is rich in cultural resources, including historical sites like Dongda Temple, Taibai Tower, and old streets, covering an area of about 11 square kilometers, with a water area of about 3.2 hectares.This project aims to create cultural and tourism attractions with historical memories and modern elements, turning Jining into a cultural reception hall that showcases its identity as the “Canal Capital”.

Dezhou

为保护运河原真古貌，2022年4月28日，南运河德州段全线通水，德州成为长江、黄河、漳卫河“三水”汇合之地，再现“九曲十八弯”壮丽美景。

To preserve the authentic appearance of the canal, on April 28, 2022, the entire Dezhou section of the South Canal was filled with water, making Dezhou a confluence of the Yangtze River, Yellow River, and Zhangwei River. This restoration brought back the magnificent “Nine Turns and Eighteen Bends” scenery.

泰安

Taian

在泰安东平湖湖畔的大宋不夜城，除主打的宋文化主题外，当地还将运河元素融入实景演艺中，以丰富多彩的形式向游客全方位展示东平运河文化。同时，当地还编制了百里运河风情游线路，串联起千年宋城、安山古镇等。

At the Great Song’s Ever-Bright City on the shore of Dongping Lake in TaianCity, the main focus is on Song Dynasty culture. The local government has also integrated elements of the canal into live performances, providing visitors with a comprehensive experience of Dongping Canal culture in various forms.Additionally, they have developed a hundred-mile canal cultural tour route, linking the thousand-year-old Song City with the ancient town of Anshan.

枣庄

Zaozhuang

枣庄的台儿庄古城新建了一批文化展馆，策划了丰富多样的非遗活动展演，如华幡舞狮、社火巡游、火龙钢花等。近年来，景区打造节庆品牌，“到台儿庄古城过大年”成为枣庄文化和旅游的一张新名片。

Taierzhuang Ancient Cityin Zaozhuang, has built a number of cultural exhibition halls and organized a variety of intangible cultural heritage performances, such as the Chinese flags and lion dance, Shehuo parades, and iron fireworks.In recent years, the scenic area has developed festival brands, making “Celebrating the New Year in Taierzhuang Ancient City” a new cultural and tourism hallmark for Zaozhuang.

聊城

Liaocheng

聊城临清市组织开展“非遗+景区”“探索运河”等活动。贡砖传承基地魏湾镇培育非遗工坊带头人、乡村文旅能人600余人，临清贡砖与故宫博物院等机构签订长期供货合同，年销售额超500万元。

Liaocheng’s Linqing City has organized activities like “Intangible Cultural Heritage + Scenic Spots” and “Exploring the Canal”. The Weiwanzhen Tribute Brick Inheritance Base has cultivated over 600 intangible cultural heritage workshop leaders and rural cultural tourism talents. Linqing tribute bricks have signed long-term supply contracts with institutions like the Forbidden City, with annual sales exceeding 5 million yuan.

奔流不息的大运河不仅是交通的纽带，更是文化的传承通道。运河两岸的人民，正以饱满的热情和创新的精神，让“沉睡”的历史“醒”过来。千年风韵与现代文明交相辉映，运河古道展新颜。
